How you feel is a state of mind Don't let it turn you blind Things go wrong. Don't worry, it's fine We look for ways to shine You work so hard but it's not enough They won't show you love Talk positivity, all of that stuff But I'm tougher than tough Welcome (Welcome) Welcome (Welcome) Welcome to the darkness Let go (Let go) Let go (Let go) Let go of your sadness Wake up with red eyes and a headache stuck in your mind So called 'friends' tell bare faced lies It's better when you realise This is how I feel So now you know the deal When your confidence starts to peel You'll understand the meaning of real Come with me on my journey And we can rise higher together
2.
I wake up and all I see is myself Staring at this mirror on the ceiling Devil's trying to block my God from view Trying to hip me on something new But it's not the way I want to go Temptation's in my ear, motives are cold I'm not lost, just a little unguided And I know I'm not alone Because the Lord, he's so strong Because the Lord reach out to me Because the Lord breaks the mirror And I see all his glory
3.
They call us scruffy though I'm fresh as the air And smoother than the hole you have your kids I won't cut my hair 'cause I like how it looks My defiance always makes you sick 'Cause I'm a long haired brother Long haired brother Long haired brother and I'll stay that way Long haired brother Long haired brother Long haired brother and I'm never gonna change A bald head is cool but not the be all and end all I can do so much with these plaits of mine You want to look your best, well so do I And a chrome top is so just not my style Say what you like, stereotypes It's my time to shine 'Cause I'm a long haired brother Long haired brother Long haired brother and I'll stay that way Long haired brother Long haired brother Long haired brother and I'm never gonna change
4.
Your sex alone is not enough Your sex alone is not enough I watched the way that you dance Want you all to myself I want to strip you down Give you the lust you crave Make you scream so loud Love you like you've never before But when's all said and done I crave for so much more Your sex alone is not enough Your sex alone is not enough Please don't get me wrong, girl It's just I'm seeking love But you got to show me Show me what you've got And if it don't work out, that's ok We've got the rest of the day Sex me one more time And I'll be on my way Your sex alone is not enough Your sex alone is not enough
5.
Here I am, lady, out of the darkness Been a long time but now I'm free So many problems that I couldn't cope So many people's bad thoughts almost drowned me But my faith in God helped me draw strength Look at things from my point of view Make my own choices, guide me the right way Live my life, lady, make my own truth People, drop your weapons and dance into the light People, the war is over. Come dance into the light Back in the darkness, there seemed no way out Until one day I prayed hard Then you came along and guided me to the light Like my shining star And everyday we get tested My spirit nearly gone But strength of mind got me out of this mess And now it won't be long People, drop your weapons and dance into the light People, the war is over. Come dance into the light

about

After the last release, I realised it was time to get deeper within my soul. A lot of questions were asked at the time so I had to give some answers. I started by working on a new double album which was a hip hop blues album. I had taken up the harmonica and began placing these on my tracks. But then something happened. The theme of darkness and light always appealed to me. I thought about some dark old school soul music so I combined the two and this is what came out of it. I enjoy listening to it. I hope you enjoy. WELCOME TO THE DARKNESS.

PS: The hip-hop blues album I was working on remains unreleased and in the vault - just like the album that was supposed to be released after The Dread Furious EP. Maybe another time.
